AAC Services Offered
Materiel Solution Analysis Phase (Element of Defense Acquisition System)
The Materiel Solution Analysis Phase begins with the Materiel Development Decision review, which is the formal entry point into the acquisition process, mandatory for all programs. Once the Joint Staff present the JROC recommendations, the DoD Component presents the ICD. For this document, AAC engineers can assist the PM with development of a preliminary concept of operations, the description of the needed capability, and identification of the operational risk.
Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
The Director, Program Analysis & Evaluation (DPA&E), (or DoD Component equivalent) proposes study guidance for the Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and the MDA approves it. The MDA also determines the acquisition phase of entry, identifies the initial review milestone, and designates the lead DoD Component(s). Once the lead DoD Component prepares the AoA study plan, AAC engineers can lead or support the development of the AoA, which is a main activity leading to completion of the Materiel Solution Analysis Phase.
